Dr Scott Hummel from the University of Michigan walks us through the evidence for and against sodium restriction in heart failure. He discusses his approach backed by his research on the role of diet and nutrition in heart failure. We also discuss some of the latest research where there may be a role for using hypertonic saline and chloride in certain patients with HF.
